Burial at Sea

Honor your loved one's memory with a dignified burial at sea in the waters they cherished. For those who found peace on the ocean or spent a lifetime fishing these shores, we provide a meaningful way to say goodbye in a setting that reflects their connection to the sea.

● Burial at Sea Overview

What to Expect

A burial at sea is a deeply personal ceremony, and we work closely with families to ensure every detail honors your loved one's wishes. We can conduct the service at a specific location—perhaps a favorite fishing spot or a meaningful place along the coast—or time it with the tides at the Shinnecock inlet so the ashes are carried out to sea. The ceremony is entirely customizable to your family's traditions and preferences. Many families choose to scatter flowers alongside the ashes, creating a beautiful and symbolic tribute.

The trip can be as intimate or as inclusive as you wish. Our larger boats can accommodate up to six people per vessel, allowing immediate family and close friends to be present. For larger gatherings, we can coordinate with partner boats to create a flotilla.

We understand that burial at sea services often involve additional coordination—restaurant reservations, family gatherings afterward, and schedules that aren't as flexible as a fishing trip. While we're always subject to weather and sea conditions, we work diligently to make the timing work for your family, recognizing the importance and solemnity of the occasion.
